About us
Welcome to Backroom Comedy Club ðŸŽ
Get ready to laugh till it hurts at Backroom Comedy Club, Toronto’s premier destination for hilarious live entertainment.
Founded in late February 2022 by two comedians passionate about their craft, our intimate venue boasts a dynamic lineup of “New York” or “TikTok” style comedy acts, where more comedians take the stage for less time, keeping the laughter flowing. With Pro Shows Wednesday to Saturday at 8 PM and 10 PM, New Material Night on Sundays at 8 PM and the Feedback open mic at 10 PM, there’s never a dull moment at Backroom.
But that’s not all! Most Saturdays at 6 PM, catch the Initiation Showcase, where Comedy Dojo graduates do their first real sets.
And don’t forget to explore our bar downstairs featuring craft beer, shooters, and cocktails/mocktails, and a delectable array of food and beverages upstairs!

“At Backroom, we believe in MORE acts doing LESS time. Our stage is a dynamic platform where comedians swiftly rotate, ensuring a lively and diverse show every time. If a performance isn’t your cup of tea, don’t worry – they’ll be offstage in a flash!” – Ariel Kagan
“We’ve created the comedy club we always wanted to be a part of. We’re not just a comedy club; we’re a comedy “gym,” dedicated to nurturing emerging talents for bigger stages and broader opportunities.” – Brandon Sobel
