Terms of Service

Last updated: October 12, 2026

These terms cover backroomcomedyclub.com, tickets you buy from us, our shows at 814 Bloor St W (basement), Toronto, and our social media accounts and the tools we use to run them. By using the site, buying a ticket or coming to a show, you agree to them.

1. Who we are

Backroom Comedy Club, 814 Bloor St W, Basement Unit, Toronto, ON M6G 1L9. Email: [email protected]

2. Tickets

  • Prices are in Canadian dollars and include HST.
  • A ticket gets one person into one show on the date and time printed on it. Seating is first come, first served unless the listing says otherwise.
  • Tickets bought through Eventbrite, Viator or another seller are also covered by that seller’s terms.
  • Don’t resell tickets for more than you paid.
  • Refunds follow our Refund Policy.

3. At the show

  • Guests under 18 are welcome when they come with an adult. The comedy is aimed at adults, so expect strong language and mature topics.
  • We only serve alcohol to guests 19 and over, and we may ask for ID.
  • Lineups can change. Comics are announced in advance when we can, but a lineup change isn’t grounds for a refund.
  • Please don’t record the performers.
  • We may refuse entry or ask anyone to leave who is heckling, harassing people, too intoxicated, or ignoring staff. No refund in that case.
  • Shows may be photographed or filmed for promotion. Our Privacy Policy explains how that works and how to ask to be left out.

4. Using our website

  • Use the site for its normal purpose: finding shows and buying tickets or merch.
  • Don’t try to break it, scrape it at scale, or buy tickets with automated tools.
  • Show times, lineups and prices can change. We fix mistakes when we find them, and if a price was clearly wrong we may cancel the order and refund you in full.

5. Our content and social media

  • Our logos, photos, videos and text belong to Backroom Comedy Club or the comics who made them. Sharing our posts with credit is great. Reusing them for commercial purposes needs our permission.
  • We run our own accounts on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and YouTube. We use software, including approved third-party apps and automated tools, to schedule posts, publish content and read our own account statistics. Those tools act only on our own accounts.
  • Each platform’s own terms apply when you use it. Comments and messages you send us there are public or shared as that platform decides.

6. Liability

  • We do our best to keep the site running and shows on schedule, but we can’t promise the site will always be available or error-free.
  • To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim about a ticket or purchase is limited to what you paid for it.
  • Nothing here limits your rights under Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, 2002 or any other law that can’t be waived.

7. Privacy

How we collect and use personal information is in our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Using the site or buying tickets after a change means you accept the new version.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
